Senior Fellow
Helen Jane Slater is an experienced economist and policy advisor with a passion for education. She is a visiting Senior Fellow at ACET. She previously worked as a Deputy Director and Senior Policy Advisor for the UK Department for Education (DfE).
As a Senior Economist for HM Treasury (the UK’s Ministry of Finance), Helen advised ministers on labour market and welfare policies and was the lead advisor to the Minister for Finance on the UK’s National Minimum Wage. Prior to becoming Senior Economist for HM Treasury, she also served as an Assistant Economist and then Economic Advisor in the same institution.
Helen is a proud alumnus of both Bristol University and Oxford University where she gained an MPhil in Economics.
