George Baffour Awuah currently works as an Economist at ACET. In this role, he conducts research and analysis as well as project management in the areas of public and development finance, macroeconomics, economic transformation and development, trade and regional integration, green finance, energy transition and green growth.
Before joining ACET, George worked as a research fellow at the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance at the University of Cape Town, researching and managing engagements on economic transformation, regional integration, and climate-resilient development. He has also previously worked as a technical analyst and project coordinator at a Cape Town-based sustainability consulting firm – OneWorld Sustainable Investments – consulting on climate, energy and environment-related projects, including those funded and/or commissioned by organizations such as the AfDB, UNICEF, DBSA, GWP SA, GCF, World Bank and GIZ.
George holds an MCom in Development Economics and a BCom (Hons) in Economics from the University of Cape Town (UCT) as well as a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
