Fayez S. Omar

Bio

Fayez S. Omar is an economist with over thirty years of experience in economic development. He currently serves as Vice President of an engineering company in the UAE (PMDC), where he has overseen the management of some of the Gulf Region’s recent flagship projects, including Mubarak Al Kabir port in Kuwait, Abu Dahbi’s International Airport land-side master plan, and Fujairah International Airport expansion.

Previously, he served as Country Director at the World  Bank covering Ethiopia, Southern Africa region, and India. Earlier at the Bank, he served as a member of the core team of the World Development Report on two occasions. Prior to joining the World Bank, Fayez was a professorial lecturer in Economics at Georgetown University.
