Charles Odoom

Head, Private Sector Development


Charles is the head of the private sector development unit and is responsible for leading and translating ACET’s economic transformation agenda through private sector initiatives across Africa. He leads ACET’s private sector development programs around Sustainable Export Processing Zones, Local Content SME Development, Country Technical Assistance on AfCFTA readiness, Export Promotion, and Job Creation. He is supervising the maiden implementation of the ACET Business Transform Program, which is aimed at developing and supporting Ghanaian businesses to make them investment-ready and integrate into global value chains.

Prior to joining ACET, Charles’ consulting career spanned several roles across firms including PwC. In PwC, as a senior consultant, he led and delivered assignments involving institutional reviews for both public and private sector clients. Notable assignments within the public sector include a review of various functions at the Controller and Accountant General as part of a Business Continuity Plan developed by PwC. He also undertook a transformation engagement for the Glico Group involving a number of companies where he assessed and recommended radical changes for some of the companies to turn around.

As a managing partner for Carl Moodo Advisory, he led the execution of several strategy and risk management assignments where he also actively undertook institutional reviews/assessments that led to a significant impact on the operations of these clients.

Charles also has industry experience spanning roles in finance and control as well as compliance in companies like Cotecna Ghana (Gateway Services Ltd), Nestle Central and West Africa, and Firstcode Management Services Limited.

Charles holds an MBA in Strategy and International Business from Nyenrode Business Universiteit in the Netherlands and an Executive Certificate in Marketing from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, USA. He has a BSc in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Accounting and holds certificates in Project Management and other skills development courses. Charles is a member of the Ghana Association of Risk and Insolvency Practitioners (GARIA).
