Event Overview

This Intergenerational Dialogue (IGD), a side event during the 2025 AfDB Annual Meetings, is a declaration that the time for catching up is over. Under the banner of “Making Africa’s Capital Work Better for Africa’s Development,” this dialogue will spotlight Africa’s most valuable and true capital as human capital, and demand that youth, especially young women, be placed at the center of financial and policy systems and equally drive gender-inclusive economic transformation. Young people across the continent are not asking for a seat at the table; they are building new tables.

They are calling for leadership that listens, financing that trusts, and institutions that reflect the realities of their generation. This dialogue will bridge generations, unlock new partnerships, and amplify one powerful message: Africa’s transformation will not be inherited, it will be co-authored. And that co-authorship must begin now.
