Event Overview
On May 31, 2016, the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) organized a validation workshop in Uganda on the Aid Management study which was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This validation workshop was the fifth in a series of a six country (Burkina Faso, Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia) study on external development finance.  Ghana, Burkina Faso, Zambia, and Rwanda held their validation workshops on April 28, May 10, 17, and 26, 2016 respectively.

The Uganda validation workshop presented key findings and recommendations of the country report to stakeholders. It further provided a platform for stakeholders to validate the research findings, provide inputs and exchange experiences and knowledge on the external development finance, and identify and propose focused, strategic and feasible interventions to strengthen management, coordination and delivery of external development finance at the country level.

The meeting brought together experts and senior officials from key government ministries, department and agencies, broad range of development partners, civil society organizations, academia, the media etc. playing critical roles in the country’s external development finance (EDF) architecture.
