The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) is participated in a Regional Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition in Africa from the 16th to 17th November in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The event, which was jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) preceded the 2017 annual commemoration of the Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security. The objective of the Symposium was to recognize the long-term benefits of sustainable food systems for healthier diets and improved nutrition in the socio-economic development of Africa. It provided a platform for stakeholders to dedicate resources for implementation of programmes and initiatives to impact nutrition and health.
