Event Overview
The Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) initiative is officially being launched this July in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The theme for the launch, “Putting Vision into Action Together,” is aimed at building on AAP’s mission to bring about positive change in Africa through meaningful, equitable partnerships.

The launch will be Africa-centered and feature prominent African leaders from higher education institutes, research bodies, NGOs, donor organizations and the private sector. The launch sessions are designed to be participatory and innovative, so that invitees will join together in a process of defining the landscape and vision of partnerships; sharing experiences; proposing new ideas for collaborative implementation; and identifying socio-cultural and material resources needed to bring vision into action.

The APP, an initiative of Michigan State University (MSU), aims to develop a collaborative and cross-disciplinary platform for addressing global challenges. The Alliance looks at innovate new models of engagement for shared research, while enhancing the resources and capacities of African universities, institutions and scholars. The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) is a key member of the Alliance.
