Event Overview
The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) in partnership with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) organized an inception meeting from 12 – 13 March 2018 in Accra, Ghana.

The meeting followed the commencement of a multi-country study, titled ‘Promoting women and youth financial inclusion for entrepreneurship and job creation: Comparative study of selected sub-Saharan African countries’.

The study will assess the extent to which financial systems in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Zambia are advancing financial inclusion among women and youth, with emphasis on evaluating how current financial systems in the selected countries are facilitating the ability of women and the youth to establish or expand the entrepreneurial and income generating opportunities available to them.

The inception meeting provided a platform for relevant stakeholders to review the inception report and project focus, and discussed research modalities of the study. The meeting brought together project advisors, researchers, gender specialists and country research partners, as well as key stakeholders in the development finance landscape in Ghana.
