Africa stands at a critical moment in its industrial development. As the last frontier for industrial transformation, the continent faces dual imperatives: to build competitive manufacturing capabilities and to do so within a rapidly evolving green economy. The transition to low-carbon and resource-efficient production models offers tremendous opportunities for economic diversification, job creation, and resilience. However, this transition is hindered by gaps in technology development, financing, innovation ecosystems, and regulatory support.
The paper “Fostering Technology Innovation for Green Industrialization in Africa” explores these themes and provides actionable insights. To deepen this discussion, this virtual dialogue will bring together policymakers, entrepreneurs, green financiers, and researchers to explore how Africa can strategically foster green technologies for industrial application, focusing on the development, deployment, and scaling of green innovations.
