Leading Toward Transformation:

Good governance and pragmatic leadership as a collective responsibility for sustaining growth

ACET’s founder and president, Dr. K.Y. Amoako, was a keynote speaker at the 2017 Investing in African Mining Indaba, which took place from 6-9 February in Cape Town, South Africa.

Over the past two decades, the Mining Indaba has become the most attended mining event in Africa and the second largest globally. The Indaba attracts up to 7,000 participants from major and junior mining companies, international finance institutions, government officials and service providers. This makes it the world’s largest gathering of the most influential stakeholders in African mining.

In the following speech delivered on his behalf by Dr. Ed Brown, Dr. Amoako makes the case that it is our collective responsible to bring about long-term growth through economic transformation.
