Niger President receives ACET policy engagement director

The President of the Republic of Niger and head of state, Issoufou Mahamadou, met the senior director of research and policy engagement of the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET), Dr. Edward Brown, on 1 July in Niamey.

Dr. Brown was in the country to introduce his organisation, ACET, a pan-African economic policy research institute, based in Accra.

“I’m in Niger to discuss with the Government some studies we will be conducting on the theme of youth, employment and skills,” said Dr. Brown after the meeting.

“I’m also here to see how we can work with the Government in the area of economic transformation, to meet the challenge of development in African countries and to achieve the integration of countries in the north and south of the continent with a view to improve the competitiveness of African countries and to create jobs,” he explained.
