K.Y. Amoako: K.Y., Founder and President of the African Center for Economic Transformation and former Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa, has dedicated his career to solving the development challenges of the world’s poorest countries, especially those in Africa.
Program Staff
Yaw Ansu, Chief Economist: Prior to joining ACET, he spent over 26 years working at the World Bank in various capacities including: Research Economist, Country Economist, Country Director, Director for Economic Policy and Head of the Economists Sector Board
Edward K. Brown, Director of Policy Advisory Service: Edward has more than 27 years experience in international development and public policy at the World Bank. He has worked extensively in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Sheila Khama, Director of Extractive Resources Services: Sheila Khama’s primary responsibility is to give strategic direction to the provision of extractive resources advisory services to sub-Saharan governments in the regulation and the management of mineral, oil and gas resources.
Nicolas Depetris Chauvin, Senior Advisor: Nicolas has held academic positions at the University of Oxford, the Dubai School of Government, INSEAD, and Universidad de Buenos Aires among others. He holds a Ph D in Economics from Princeton University.
Abdoul Mijiyawa, Economist: Prior to joining ACET, he was a lecturer at the University of Auvergne, in France where he taught macroeconomics, microeconomics and international economics.
Eugenie Maiga, Economist:Eugenie holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Université de Ouagadougou, a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University, and a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.
Buddy Buruku, Policy Advisor: Buddy earned an MBA from The Wharton School (UPenn), a Master’s in Chinese Commerce and Politics from the Johns Hopkins School of Applied and International Studies, and an Undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies from Haverford College.
Julius Gatune Kariuki, Policy Advisor: Julius is a Kenyan national, passionate about Africa’s future. He has a multi-disciplinary background covering engineering, computer science, business administration and policy analysis.
Francis Mulangu, Agricultural Economist: Francis is an agricultural economist from The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) educated in the USA with an Economics degree from the University of North Texas, a Master’s degree in Economics from the Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the Ohio State University
Dozie Okpalaobieri, Legal and Policy Advisor: Dozie is an attorney and holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, and a Masters of Arts in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University.
Sarah Jane Danchie, Policy Analyst: Sarah has Undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of London. She has worked in a number of organizations, including the Commonwealth Secretariat (Economic Affairs Division) and the United Nations Development Program (Ghana Country Office) where she worked on economic research and analysis.
Nana Amma Afari-Gyan, Policy Analyst: Nana Amma has an MPhil in Economics and a B.A. in Economics with Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana. She previously worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Economics, University of Ghana, and with KPMG Ghana as a tax trainee.
Daleen Ofori Owusu-Takyi, Research Assistant: Daleen graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and Resource Development.
Executive Office Staff
Charles Dollie, Executive Assistant to the President: Charles holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Magna cum Laude, from Ashesi University in Ghana.
Communications Staff
Sheila Ochugboju, Chief Communications Officer: Sheila is the Chief Communications Officer for the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET). Previously she was head of the Communications and Outreach Department for the African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS), in Nairobi, Kenya.
Rhoda Ansah, Communications and External Relations Assistant: Rhoda graduated from Ashesi University in 2007 with a BSc in Computer Science.
Michael Kottoh, Research\ Publications Officer: Michael holds an MA in Development Studies from the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research, University of Ghana and a BA in Geography and Resource Development, University of Ghana.
Administrative Staff
Anthony Boateng, Director, Finance and Administration: Anthony is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants with a Masters degree in International Commercial Law.
MacGeorge Gyimah, Finance Manager: MacGeorge is a chartered management accountant and also holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Hull, UK.
Antoinette Cyrilla Enninful, Human Resource Manager: She holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast and has a solid HR hands-on experience garnered from 10 years working within multi-national and private industries.
Emefa Adjoa Fiadzoe, Administrative Officer: Emefa received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana.
Eric Owusu, Finance Officer: Eric is a part qualified ACCA student and a product of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) in Accra.
Eric Acheampong, Operations and Administrative Assistant: Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ashesi University, Ghana, in 2006.
Abigail Parry, Office Manager: Abigail joined ACET in 2010 and is currently the office manager.
