ACET Senior Associates and Associates are seasoned professionals with broad experience and solid reputations as policymakers at the national level, senior staff of international organizations, seasoned private-sector specialists and world-class academics, whom we have assembled to provide high-level policy advice to African governments on the formulation and implementation of public policies. Senior Associates and Associates normally join members of our Secretariat staff on advisory engagements but can be called upon to provide demand-driven advisory services at the request of governments or to contribute to our policy analysis and research work.
Senior Associates
Fantu Cheru: Fantu is Research Director at the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala, Sweden, an interdependent institution under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and supported by five other Nordic governments. He manages the institute’s overall research portfolio constituted of six research clusters.
Kwabena Gyimah-Brempong: Kwabena is Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at the University of South Florida, Tampa. He previously taught economics at Wright State University, the New College of USF, and Allegheny College.
Omotunde E.G. Johnson: Omotunde is an economics researcher and consultant. After serving in various capacities at the IMF for more than 25 years, he retired in 2000.
James Mwangi: James is a Partner in the Johannesburg Office of Dalberg, a strategic advisory firm. He has served a wide range of multilateral organizations and private foundations on issues relating to institutional change management, organizational decentralization, leveraging information technology and effective resource mobilization.
Kofi Blankson Ocansey: Kofi, Founder and Managing Partner of Dixcove Ventures, a consulting firm in Accra, has gained extensive global experience in the fields of strategic consulting, executive operational management, corporate strategy development, and information and marketing communications.
Jeggan C. Senghor: Jeggan is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Study at the University of London. He previously worked with Center for African Studies at the University of London as an Associate Member and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa as Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary and Director of the West Africa Office.
Chaponda George Taziona: Chaponda has a diverse background in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), Public Expenditure Management, Financial Modeling, Business Environment Analysis and Macroeconomic analysis.
Associates
Mavis MacCarthy: Mavis is a development specialist in policy analysis and institutional reforms, program management, monitoring & evaluation, organizational development, aid management and coordination.
Edwin Macharia: Edwin advises developing country governments, bilateral and multilateral donors, international organizations, foundations, NGOs and corporations on a range of issues including strategy, operational efficiency and programmatic implementation.
Madji Sock: Madjiguene has more than 13 years of experience implementing projects and conducting organizational assessments for donors, non-governmental organizations and the private sector, including a Fortune-1000 technology client, a large multinational development agency, and a multinational telecom authority.
